Novus Products appear on 5th Gear....
The Novus Piccolo and the Stinger DSI appeared on 5th Gear along with Steve Warren our Sales Manager.
Steve was invited along to install the Stinger DSI and this is not the first time Steve has been on 5th Gear. Steve has worked with 5th Gear in the past, acting as a consultant to Tiff and Vicky, this is because of his knowledge in the speed camera industry.
This time Steve played the part of the laser gun operator, showing that the GPS systems were not effective against a mobile laser site. The Stinger DSI being a hybrid of all three technology's, Radar Detection, GPS Location and Laser Jamming passed the test with ease, and clearly proved you get what you pay for.
The Novus Piccolo and the Stinger DSI were being tested is used in a feature about updating your database and how important it is to do so on a regular basis and also showing the downside of GPS locators against mobile locations. Novus Systems were asked to supply the Novus Piccolo, our lowest cost unit at £59.99 and the Stinger DSI, the worlds most expensive system at £1600. Interestingly they wanted to use the two units with an out of date database, because they wanted to show that if you do not update them they could be missing vital data.
We were not worried about supplying out of date data, as our customers know we do a weekly database update and most of our customers update their units every week free of charge. As you know we have no subscription cost, unlike our competitors.
Tim Shaw the presenter drove the units under test, starting with the Piccolo and ending with the Stinger DSI. Tim fell in love with our Stinger DSI unit and wanted to keep it, as it did everything and he thought it was very cool!
